A functional capacity assessment is only useful if the report lands before the plan review does. Our occupational therapists deliver FCAs across Northern NSW and South East Queensland with a confirmed report date agreed at booking - and kept.
When to refer
When you need an FCA
- Plan reviews and reassessments where funding is at risk
- Evidence for Supported Independent Living (SIL) or Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) applications
- Requests for new supports, equipment or home modifications
- Change of circumstances where current supports no longer match need
- Access requests where functional evidence is thin
The report
What the report covers
Our FCAs assess self-care, mobility, communication, social participation and domestic tasks against the participant's goals and environment. Every report includes standardised assessment results, clear functional findings, and recommendations tied to NDIS funding categories - written so an NDIA delegate can act on them without a follow-up phone call.

In the participant's home and community, where function is real. Usually 2 to 3 hours.
Report
Delivered to you and the participant on the agreed date. We remain available for clarifications through the review.

How much does an NDIS functional capacity assessment cost?
FCAs are billed under Capacity Building - Improved Daily Living at NDIS price limits. We quote the full cost, including travel and report writing, before you commit.
How long does the report take?
The report date is agreed at booking - typically within 2 to 3 weeks of assessment. If a plan review deadline is tight, tell us and we will work to it.
Can self-managed and plan-managed participants book?
Yes, along with agency-managed participants. We are registered, so all management types are covered.
Do you assess in the home?
Yes, deliberately. Function measured in a clinic misses what matters. We assess where the participant lives and participates.
